Biography

Michael has over forty-five years’ experience in the Energy sector both nationally and internationally having worked as an Engineer in the oil producing Industry (onshore and offshore) and has extensive experience working in oil Refineries and Process Plants both on the Owner side and the Contractor side. He has held senior positions in the mechanical contracting industry as Vice President of Projects and Chief Operating Officer and member of the Board of Directors.

He is a founding member of the Project Management Institute Southern Caribbean Chapter, (PMI SCC) and has previously held the position of President of the Board of Directors. Michael is a registered Engineer with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago, a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Michael is also a certified trainer at several tertiary education institutions:

• The Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (University of the West Indies) / PM College Master’s Certificate program in Project Management.
• ROYTEC, Business School (University of the West Indies) in the Project Management Diploma course (Former lecturer).
• The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT)

He is the co-owner of Radient Project Management Services Ltd. and facilitates training in Project Management for all disciplines, and has presented several technical papers in Trinidad, the Caribbean and Africa on the practical aspects of managing projects. Michael also manages his Project Engineering consultancy, Michael Charles Project Management Services Limited.

As a project management trainer, he prepares students for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI)®, CAPM® and PMP® certification examinations and conducts industrial training courses for organisations in all industries, particularity those in the Energy sector, upstream, midstream and downstream. His class participants stem from frontline project management personnel to executive managers.

He is an experienced mentor and coach and continues to provide management services to organisations working in the energy sector in Project implementation, Claims Management, and Organisational improvements.
